Beautiful Paris

Just a few of the images recently taken in Paris.
This has been tremendously inspiring for future ceramic work.

Can't wait to see what happens!

Amazing view from the Musee d'Orsay
Detail at Versailles

Versailles
I believe this is Pont des Arts, the "love bridge".

Early morning at the Jardin des Tuileries
Birds are well seated on the beautiful statues everywhere.

Egyptian antiquities at the Louvre.  My favorite color.

Henri Matisse, Odalisque in Red Pants, 1925

Summer Brings New Ceramic Flowers

Spring and Summer has been a busy exhibition time for me.  I have chosen to show more ceramic flowers, some with vases you might have seen here before, and some not.  I wanted to share a few of the pieces with you in the  following photos.

Happy Summer!
I hope you also have lots of flowers to enjoy
and can spend time in the garden.

A Visit to the Beach

There is a marvelous town on the Florida panhandle that
sits on the Gulf of Mexico. This small town has a huge
visual impact on all those who visit.
SEASIDE, FLORIDA
The following are the beach pavilions that take you from
the town onto the sugar white sands.

MORE CERAMIC FLOWERS

I have discovered how much I really like
making ceramic flowers. What's not to like...
crazy colors, stacking lots of shapes into one piece!
Almost like making little totems!

So many bits.

So many possibilities!

KIAWAH, SOUTH CAROLINA in December

KIAWAH is a beautiful island on the
South Carolina coast.
You just can't beat the beach in winter.

Moss covered oaks

Oh yeah, these signs are plentiful.

The island wildlife
is amazing

Hoping all enjoyed a lovely holiday and wishing you a Happy and Peaceful New Year!

SWEET LILY, THE WONDER DOG

This is my wonderful Lily.
Her favorite day is when she can chase
squirrels around the yard, dig up voles,
track down lizards, and bark at the wind.

She spends her late mornings
sleeping on a soft cushion,
hopefully in the sunshine.

Lily will hide all the loose socks
then give you a look that says,
"who me?"

She is my muse.

CLINTON LIBRARY and the ARKANSAS RIVER in November

Spent an afternoon last week on the grounds of the Clinton Library in Little Rock, Arkansas .
It was a perfect cool and overcast day along the
Arkansas River with Kathy and Macy.
I was fascinated with the
1899 Rock Island Railroad Bridge.
It is now a pedestrian bridge to North Little Rock.

The view from the Clinton Library over the river was so moody and gray....just perfect.
The architect, James Polshek, used the proximity of the river
for the cantilevered portion of the building.
I love the lines.
